About me
Dr. Heather Ketchum is an Associate Professor in Biology. During her eight years at OU, Heather has taught numerous courses of varying sizes. In Fall 2013, Heather worked with the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) to flip her large Human Physiology course. In the last two years, Heather has been the recipient of the Good Teaching Award, and the Longmire Prize for teaching. Her primary research interest is in Forensic Entomology where she focuses on factors that affect the rate of decomposition and postmortem interval estimations. She also uses her knowledge of Forensic Entomology to assist law enforcement and Crime Scene Units across the state of Oklahoma to assist in homicide, suicide, and cases of abuse and neglect in both humans and animals.
