About me
April Moreno-Ward is a dedicated Professor of Geology at Rose State College, where she has served the geologic community for almost seven years. With a strong commitment to advancing geoscience education, she actively collaborates with industry and community partners to create meaningful opportunities for students, fostering their understanding and confidence in the field.
April's extensive background includes teaching various geoscience-related courses, conducting impactful research, and engaging students in real-world geoscience applications. She also spent 6 years as a geologic consultant in the petroleum industry.
April is pursuing her PhD in Geophysics at the University of Oklahoma. Her research focuses on seismic geomorphology and machine learning/AI, bridging her industry experience with academic expertise. Her efforts to secure grants and develop curricula reflect her passion for nurturing the next generation of geoscientists.
